That mix creates demanding software needs. Early-stage biotech firms must record experiments, samples and batches in ways that will survive regulatory scrutiny and investor due diligence, often with a team of twelve and no IT department. Engineering subcontractors feeding the aerospace and defence primes handle configuration control, export restrictions and first-article inspection paperwork. Specialist recruiters and contractors serving these sectors juggle clearances and scarce skills. Alongside them, the town centre is being redeveloped, and local retailers, trades and services are adapting to new residents and changing footfall.
We work from Wellingborough, roughly an hour's drive across to the A1 and south to Stevenage. Delivery is largely remote, with fortnightly demos and written decisions, and we visit for discovery and launch. We are candid about limits: we are a small studio and do not hold defence security clearances, so for classified environments we would support the unclassified parts of a supplier's business, or not bid at all.
