Because the big corporates are so visible, it is easy to miss how much of Berkshire runs on smaller firms. Reading has a deep bench of consultancies, recruiters and IT resellers that sell into those corporates, plus the University of Reading and its Henley Business School. Slough's Trading Estate mixes household-name offices with food production, engineering and trade counters. Bracknell carries corporate offices and Waitrose's head office, but also a wide mid-market of service firms. Newbury blends telecoms suppliers with equestrian and rural businesses, and Windsor leans on hospitality and visitor attractions. The digital needs follow that split: integration-heavy work in the east, customer-facing and booking systems further west.
We are honest about distance. Berkshire is roughly two hours from Wellingborough, by the M1 and M25 or across via the M40, so we do not pop in for a quick coffee. Projects here are run remotely, which suits Thames Valley teams who already work in hybrid patterns and on video calls. We travel in for the moments that benefit from being in the same room, typically a discovery workshop at the start and a walkthrough before launch. Between those, you get weekly progress calls, a shared board and working software to review early.
