The five towns we cover reflect that spread. Norwich is professional, academic and creative, with insurers, law firms, digital agencies and research spin-outs. King's Lynn, in the west, combines port activity, food manufacturing and engineering. Great Yarmouth is split between offshore energy services and a traditional seaside tourism season. Thetford, on the edge of the forest and Breckland, has light industry, logistics and a growing population. Dereham, at the geographic centre of the county, is an agricultural market town with manufacturing and retail. So a Norfolk brief might be an offshore crew management tool one week and a farm-shop website the next.
Norfolk is a long drive from Wellingborough, around two and a half hours to Norwich via the A14 and A11 or across by the A47. King's Lynn and Thetford are a little nearer, but still planned trips. We therefore run Norfolk projects remotely, with a weekly call, a shared board and a staging site that always shows current progress. We travel in for discovery and for launch, and we make those visits count by spending time with the people who will use the system every day.
