Seasonality is the recurring problem. Guest houses, holiday cottages, cafes, venues and activity providers here swing between packed festival weeks and quiet wet Tuesdays in February, and many run on a patchwork of booking channels, a paper diary and whatever the website template allows. Quarry, haulage and engineering businesses on the other side of the economy face different friction: weighbridge tickets, plant inspections and safety records spread across sites with patchy mobile signal, where a missed check is a serious matter rather than an inconvenience.
Buxton is about two hours by road from our Wellingborough base, so Buxton work is delivered remotely for most of its life. Visits are saved for the points where being there changes the outcome: an opening discovery day, walking a site or a hotel's back office, and training at launch. Between those, you get regular video reviews and a test version you can try at your own pace.
