Because so much local business is physical, digital friction here tends to show up at the edges of the working day. A warehouse at Markham Vale needs drivers booked into loading slots and vehicle checks recorded before a shift starts. A fabrication shop in Whittington Moor quotes, schedules and invoices from different spreadsheets. Market traders and independent shops around the Shambles want online orders without paying a platform fee on every sale. Care providers and healthcare suppliers serving the hospital juggle rotas, training records and inspection evidence across paper and several apps.
Our studio is in Wellingborough, some ninety minutes south down the M1, so Chesterfield projects are run remotely with regular screen-share reviews and a shared test system. We travel up for discovery days, particularly when the process lives in a yard or a workshop and is best understood by walking it, and again for training and go-live. There is no Chesterfield office, and we'd rather say that plainly.
