The friction here is scale rather than complexity. An owner who runs a shop, handles the wholesale orders and posts on social media in the evening does not have time for software that needs babysitting. Trades working from home addresses lose jobs to slow quoting. Small heritage organisations and clubs run on volunteers, spreadsheets and goodwill. Visitor-facing businesses see sharp peaks around events and weekends, then quiet midweeks. What helps is modest: one tidy system instead of four half-used apps, and a website that answers the questions customers keep phoning about.
Olney is about as close as it gets for us. Versatech is registered in Wellingborough, and the A509 runs straight between the two towns, so a morning at your premises is an easy thing to arrange. We still do most of the building remotely, with short weekly check-ins, but for a place this near we are happy to sit at the counter or the kitchen table and see how the work actually happens before we suggest anything.
