Much of the town's digital friction sits in construction and logistics. Groundworkers, builders and trades serving Ebbsfleet and wider north Kent manage subcontractors, plant, materials and payment applications through phone calls and spreadsheets. Hauliers and warehouses near the A2 and the crossing deal with slot bookings, driver hours and congestion that can throw out a day's plan. Marine and river service firms schedule work around tides and vessel movements. Family-run shops, restaurants and professional practices along the high street and in Northfleet compete with Bluewater down the road for local spending.
Of all our Kent towns, Gravesend is the easiest for us to reach: from Wellingborough it is under two hours down the M1 and round the M25, traffic at the crossing permitting. Even so, delivery is remote. Discovery and launch happen face to face, with the odd extra trip to watch a site or yard at work. Everything else runs through a weekly call, a live task list and test builds you can try as they are ready.
