The city centre has become one of the largest concentrations of legal, accountancy and banking work outside London. HSBC UK runs its head office from Centenary Square, and the Colmore Business District is lined with national law and advisory firms. Around that core sit the University of Birmingham at Edgbaston, Aston University and Birmingham City University, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Mondelez's Bournville works and a manufacturing base that still includes Jaguar Land Rover at Castle Bromwich. New Street, the M6 and the HS2 terminus under construction at Curzon Street tie it all together.

Firms that grew through acquisition often run two or three practice management tools side by side. Digbeth's agencies and studios, meanwhile, tend to outgrow their project tools long before they outgrow their offices.
Versatech is based in Wellingborough, around an hour and a quarter from Birmingham via the A14 and M6. Most of our delivery is remote: shared boards, recorded walkthroughs and short weekly calls. For discovery we come into the city and sit with the people who do the work, whether that is a partner on Colmore Row or a bench jeweller on Vyse Street. We don't have a Birmingham office and won't pretend otherwise.

Companies spun out of the University of Birmingham or Aston usually start with grant-funded research and a handful of staff. When the first commercial contracts arrive, they need proper systems for customers, compliance records and reporting to investors, without building an enterprise stack they cannot yet afford.

Both, within reason. We are a small studio, so we suit teams inside larger Birmingham organisations who need a well-defined system built properly, as well as owner-run firms. We won't pitch to replace an entire enterprise platform. We are better placed to build the portal, workflow tool or reporting layer that sits alongside it.
Yes. Birmingham is an easy trip from Wellingborough, so we are happy to run discovery sessions and key reviews in person, whether that is in the city centre, Edgbaston or out in Digbeth. Day-to-day build work happens remotely, which keeps costs sensible and means you are not paying for travel time every week.
We sign NDAs as standard, work inside your preferred tools where possible and keep client data out of development environments. For regulated firms we document where data is stored, who can access it and how it is backed up, so your compliance team can review the design before anything goes live.
