OPERATIONAL SYSTEMS / NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
WHAT IS INCLUDED
WHY CORBY
In metals processing, traceability is everything. A length of tube arrives with a mill certificate, is cut, drilled, bent or finished, and leaves as a component that must still be linked to that certificate. When that link depends on handwritten labels and a spreadsheet, errors creep in and customer audits become stressful. We build systems that assign identifiers at goods-in, print barcoded labels, record every operation against them and generate dispatch paperwork with the correct certificates attached.
OPERATIONAL SYSTEMS / CORBY
Round-the-clock plants and large warehouses need operational tools that fit shift life. Handover logs, planned maintenance, safety observations and permit-to-work records all benefit from being digital, searchable and visible to managers without walking the floor. We design these tools with operators and supervisors, keep screens simple, and make sure they work on the devices and networks you actually have. Where an existing ERP or WMS works well, we integrate rather than duplicate.
IN PRACTICE / CORBY
A tube processing business on a Corby industrial estate could label incoming stock by heat number, record cutting and finishing operations against each label and attach the right certificates to every dispatch automatically.
A continuous packaging operation might replace paper handover sheets with a tablet log covering line status, issues, quality holds and actions, visible to the next shift and to managers remotely.
A plastics moulder could track each customer-owned tool's location, shot count, maintenance history and condition, prompting preventive work before a tool fails mid-run.

DELIVERY / CORBY
Agree the opportunity and evidence of success.
Make direction tangible before delivery expands.
Build in visible, testable releases.
Use real performance to shape what follows.
QUESTION / CORBY
We watch the work first, ideally across more than one shift. Then we design around real constraints: time pressure, gloves, noise, shared devices and varied confidence with technology. We test early versions with operators, not just managers, and adjust until the system is quicker than the paper it replaces.
